Biographies of Key Personnel Joel Dunn –Director, Producer Raised in Randolph, New Jersey, Joel grew up with a camera in his hands. Discovering filmmaking at an early age, he strove to continuously increase his knowledge and respect for film and video. Joel received several scholarships for his accomplishments in the film realm upon completion of his secondary education. Joel launched his own production company, Theory Films, in October 2004, to specialize in music videos, commercials, and short film projects. He currently attends New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts for film and Television production. At NYU Joel began producing intermediate and thesis film productions. Joel has produced over a dozen music videos and short films, garnering twelve film festival awards and accolades. He has also worked on several high profile projects for Universal Records, Epic Records, and Volvo Cars Corporation. Daniel T. Spence – Producer Daniel Spence has been producing since his first year at NYU. He served as a producer on Jonathan Sanden’s Extropy, and Leslie Zak’s Off Course, which recently screened at Cannes. He is currently producing Holy Sapien a film by Joel Levin (nominated for a Student Academy Award), Drew Alexander’s I, as well as four commercials and three other short films. This summer, Daniel will intern at IDP, the distribution and production company of Samuel Goldwyn Films and Roadside Attractions. Daniel will receive a B.F.A. in Film and Television, a B.A. in Psychology, and a minor in Producing. Kiri Carch – Producer Kiri’s talent in the managerial and financial aspects of the performing arts began during high school where she acted as sound designer, assistant director, and stage manager for most of Wilton High School’s musicals and plays. Increasingly interested in producing, Kiri produced an entire show of one-acts as president of the theatre company, chaired and founded her high school’s first annual student-run film festival, and won the Fine and Performing Arts’ Producer’s Award as a senior. Having completed her freshman year of film school at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, Kiri has already begun to assist and co-produce the advanced projects of several upperclassmen. Eric Westpheling – Director of Photography Eric’s love of photography began early in life while being raised in the Philadelphia area. This passion spilled over into motion pictures while in college. Attending the Tisch School of the Arts, Eric made a name for himself as a director of photography for over two dozen narrative and advanced level productions. Eric’s films have premiered at several prominent film festivals including First Run, Rochester, and Westchester, in addition to appearing on major television networks of MTV2 and MTV UK. Michael Wynne-Producer Living in Randolph, NJ his whole life, Mike developed a love for Film and Video and became increasingly involved in television and live-video Production throughout his high school career. Mike has produced several specialized projects for sports teams and finally decided to focus on the fast-paced world of television upon completing the NHSI Digital Video Production Program at Northwestern University. Upon completing high school, Mike received various scholarships for his work in Video Production. He currently attends Boston University as a Film/Television Major with a concentration in Economics. He has also worked on several shows on the BUTV network including BU Tonite and is currently developing a midmorning talk show called Good Morning BU, currently in preproduction; Mike will serve as Co-Producer and Director. During the Fall 2006 semester, Mike is slated to intern at NiteBeat featuring Barry Nolan—formerly of Hard Copy. |
